The objectives of the institution:
The goal of Maryosa is to support and advance the development of talent of people in developing countries. With its objectives the organisation aims to serve the public interest.
As stated in article 2, section 1 of the statutes of the organisation, the organisation aims
- to support and promote education, especially in developing countries, among other things by affiliating with legal entities or institutions on a religious basis and/or by affiliating with projects in general that provide education or that work on the development and improvement of education and to support natural persons, especially in developing countries, among other things by making funds available, whether or not in the form of a scholarship, for an education.
- to perform all further acts that are related to the foregoing in the broadest sense or that may be conducive thereto.
The foundation’s goals, mission, and vision are further described on our mission and vision page.
Main lines of the policy plan:
In pursuit of our objectives outlined above, Maryosa elicits applications from eligibile persons via its website, and the Board meets whenever such an application is received, or whenever other matters of relevance arise.
Maryosa’s starting capital was set aside by its founder, Maria Sybilla Rosa Palmen, as described in our story. Our finances are managed by our treasurer and kept in checkings and savings accounts at the ASN Bank in the Netherlands. Expenditures are listed in our annual reports, and primarily concern tuition fees for our beneficiaries or other costs directly related to our goals, and administrative fees. At present, we are not actively raising funds, but with this website, are preparing to raise awareness of our work in order to later acquire volunteers and donors.

Renumeration policy:
The foundation does not have a profit target. Revenues from activities will benefit the foundation’s objectives. In case of an eventual liquidation, a positive liquidation balance will assist an ANBI with a likeminded objective. All members of our team are volunteers and receive no financial compensation for the work they do for Maryosa.
Reports of current activities and financial statements:
Yearly reports of activities and financial statements can be found on our annual reports page.
Financial reporting
Balance sheets, statements of income and expenses, and explanatory notes can be found at the end of each of our annual reports.
